CBBA Winter Tournament 1st Edition

Updated: Feb 24, 2022

From February 17 to 21, the CBBA held the first edition of the CBBA Winter Tournament.

With the participation of 6 teams (3 from the USA and 3 from PR) began what we hope will become more than a tradition for our academy.

This tournament is for young people between 13 and 14 years old. We greatly appreciate the participation and visit of these teams:

Long Island Storm Chasers, NY

Method Scrappers, NY

Florida Baseball, FL

Nationals, PR

LosGuapos de Kuilan, PR

Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy

Participants enjoyed a welcome dinner with Carlos Beltran at the CBBA, baseball clinics with our coaches, and a chat with our Sports Psychologist.

Funds raised at this event go to the CBBA Scholarship Fund. The Scholarship Fund was created to provide support and opportunities to talented young people in the sport of baseball, who study at our academy. It is important to note that more than 50% of our population comes from low-income households living in high-poverty areas. 59% of our student body comes from the public school system and many of them, upon graduation, become first generation college students.

We appreciate the support of our sponsors, specially Brand Institute, the Municipality of Camuy and its Department of Sports and Recreation, parents, faculty, coaches and everyone who made this great tournament possible.

The team that won this first edition of the tournament was Los Guapos de Kuilan and Florida Baseball runners-up.
